“European experience of ecological education of children” “Європейський досвід екологічної освіти дітей”

The round table “European Experience of Ecological Education of Children”, held within the framework of the conference “Actual Issues of Forming a Creative Personality of the Teacher in the Context of Continuity of Preschool and Primary Education”, was dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Planet. The event brought together researchers, university lecturers, students, and practitioners to discuss effective European approaches to fostering ecological awareness among children. During the round table, participants analyzed key principles of European environmental education, including child-centred learning, experiential activities, interdisciplinary integration, and the creation of eco-friendly educational environments. Special attention was given to the practices of Finland, Germany, Italy, and Poland, where environmental values are introduced from early childhood through nature-based learning, eco-projects, recycling initiatives, and community partnerships. Speakers highlighted the significance of adapting European methodologies to Ukrainian educational settings, emphasizing the need for teacher training, parental involvement, and the development of school–community cooperation. The discussion also focused on the role of creative pedagogical methods-storytelling, ecological games, outdoor learning, and arts-based activities in shaping children’s environmental responsibility. The round table became an important platform for sharing insights and generating ideas on how Ukraine can effectively integrate European experiences to strengthen ecological education at preschool and primary levels. Participants concluded that enhancing environmental awareness from early childhood is a key step toward building a sustainable and environmentally responsible society.

“Європейський екологічний кінозал” “European Ecological Cinema”

Захід «Європейське екологічне кіно» був організований як інтерактивний перегляд та обговорення сучасних екологічних фільмів, таких як «Сміття», «Екополіс», “Потік” та «Номе». Метою заходу було залучити студентів до розуміння глобальних екологічних викликів через призму європейського та міжнародного документального кіно. Кожен фільм представив унікальний погляд на ключові екологічні проблеми – управління відходами та забруднення (Trashed), сталий розвиток міст (Ecopolis), глобальну водну кризу (Flow) та взаємовідносини між людиною та природою (Nome). Після перегляду студенти взяли участь у керованому обговоренні, ділилися своїми роздумами, емоційними реакціями та можливими шляхами вирішення екологічних проблем, порушених у фільмах. Фільм студенти переглядали вдома, в університеті, а потім ми обговорювали їх на заняттях. Після перегляду фільмів студенти створили власну галерею малюнків на основі побаченого.

The event “European Ecological Cinema” was organized as an interactive viewing and discussion session dedicated to contemporary environmental films such as Trashed, Ecopolis, Flow, and Nome. The aim of the activity was to engage students in understanding global ecological challenges through the lens of European and international documentary cinema. Each film presented a unique perspective on key environmental issues — waste management and pollution (Trashed), sustainable urban development (Ecopolis), the global water crisis (Flow), and the relationship between humans and nature (Nome). After the screening, students took part in guided discussions, sharing their reflections, emotional responses, and possible solutions to the environmental problems raised in the films. Students watched the film at home, at the university, and then we discussed them in class. After watching the film, the students created their own gallery of drawings based on what they had seen.

“Збережемо планету” “Save planet”

Захід «Врятуймо планету» був присвячений презентації книги «Врятуймо планету» Паоло Манчіні та Луки де Леоне, відомих авторів, які досліджують нагальні проблеми захисту довкілля та сталого розвитку. Презентація мала на меті підвищити обізнаність студентів про глобальні екологічні проблеми та надихнути на активну участь в екологічних ініціативах. Під час заходу студенти дізналися про ідеї авторів щодо зміни клімату, відновлюваної енергетики та важливості особистої відповідальності за майбутнє нашої планети. Дискусія була зосереджена на практичних шляхах зменшення забруднення, популяризації екологічного способу життя та підтримці екологічної освіти.

The event “Save the Planet” was dedicated to the presentation of the book Save the Planet written by Paolo Mancini and Luca de Leone, well-known authors who explore the urgent challenges of environmental protection and sustainable development. The presentation aimed to raise students’ awareness of global ecological problems and inspire active participation in environmental initiatives. During the event, students learned about the authors’ ideas on climate change, renewable energy, and the importance of personal responsibility for the future of our planet. The discussion focused on practical ways to reduce pollution, promote eco-friendly lifestyles, and support environmental education.

“Давайте збережемо природний простір” “Let’s save natural spaces”

У ході заходу “Let’s save natural spaces” майбутні педагоги дізналися більше про екологічні проблеми, шляхи їхнього вирішення, використання європейського досвіду у екологічній освіті підростаючого покоління. Також з метою усвідомлення власного впливу на довкілля студенти вимірювали власний екологічний слід, намагалися визначити шляхи економнішого та бережного споживання ресурсів.

During the “Let’s save natural spaces” event, future teachers learned more about environmental problems, ways to solve them, and the use of European experience in environmental education of the younger generation. In order to understand their own impact on the environment, the students also measured their own ecological footprint and tried to identify ways to conserve resources more economically and carefully.

“Екологічний воркшоп – європейський досвід” “Ecological workshop: European experience”

Продовжуємо мандрівку Європою, знайомимося з особливостями екологічної освіти у країнах ЄС під час тренінгу “Ecological workshop: European experience”. У ході тренінгу студенти мали можливість дізнатися про сучасні підходи до екологічної освіти в країнах Європейського Союзу, порівняти їх із вітчизняними практиками та обговорити можливості впровадження європейського досвіду в українській освітній системі. Тренінг став важливою частиною формування екологічної компетентності майбутніх педагогів, розширив їхнє уявлення про європейські стандарти екологічної освіти та мотивував до активних дій задля збереження довкілля в Україні.

We continue our journey through Europe, learning about the peculiarities of environmental education in the EU countries during the “Ecological workshop: European experience”. During the training, students had the opportunity to learn about modern approaches to environmental education in the European Union, compare them with domestic practices and discuss the possibilities of implementing European experience in the Ukrainian educational system. The training became an important part of developing the environmental competence of future teachers, broadened their understanding of European standards of environmental education and motivated them to take active steps to preserve the environment in Ukraine.

“Екологічна освіта – траєкторія персонального розвитку” “Ecological education – the trajectory of personal development”

 19.12.2023 року відбувся вебінар “Екологічна освіта – траєкторія персонального розвитку”. У ході вебінару було розкрито актуальність екологічної освіти дітей дошкільного та молодшого шкільного віку: запропоновано інноваційні методи, прийоми, форми роботи з дітьми екологічної тематики на основі досвіду країн Європейського Союзу.

On 19.12.2023, a webinar “Environmental Education – a Trajectory of Personal Development” was held. The webinar highlighted the relevance of environmental education for children of preschool and primary school age: innovative methods, techniques, and forms of working with children on environmental issues based on the experience of the European Union.

“Збережемо первоцвіти – передамо весняний привіт Європі” “Preserving primroses – conveying spring greetings to Europe”

Екологічна акція пройшла у співпраці з станцією юних натуралістів. У ході еко акції студенти милувалися весняною природою, наголошували на необхідності збереження первоцвітів, приміряючи на собі їхній образ. А під час весняної практики висадили весняні квіти з дошкільниками у дитячому садку. У ході екологічної акції майбутні вчителі та вихователі знайомилися з особливістю екодіяльності у країнах Європи та переймали їхній досвід.

The environmental campaign was held in cooperation with the station of young naturalists. During the eco-activity, students admired the spring nature, emphasised the need to preserve primroses, trying on their image. And during their spring practice, they planted spring flowers with preschoolers in a kindergarten. During the environmental campaign, future teachers and educators learnt about the peculiarities of environmental activities in European countries and adopted their experience.

“Дивовижний світ природи: Європейський екологічний маршрут” “The amazing world of nature: the European ecological trail”

Учасники проєкту Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module 101085524 – EcoEdEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH «Ecological education of preschool and primary school children: a European approach» взяли участь у віртуальному турі “The amazing world of nature: the European ecological trail”. У ході якого майбутні учителі познайомилися з різними європейськими країнами, особливостями їхнього природного середовища та закцентувати увагу на збереженні природи.

Семінар дозволив познайомитися з екологічними проблемами ЄС та України, згенерувати шляхи їхнього вирішення.

The participants of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module 101085524 – EcoEdEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH project “Ecological education of preschool and primary school children: a European approach” took part in the virtual tour “The amazing world of nature: the European ecological trail”. During the tour, future teachers got acquainted with different European countries, the peculiarities of their natural environment and focused on nature conservation. The seminar allowed them to get acquainted with the environmental problems of the EU and Ukraine and to generate ways to solve them.

“Збереження біорізноманіття та природоохоронні території в Україні та Європі”/ “Biodiversity Conservation and Protected Areas in Ukraine and Europe”

У ході реалізації проєкту Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module відбувся семінар на тему “Збереження біорізноманіття та природоохоронні території в Україні та Європі”. Майбутні педагоги презентували свої виступи щодо захисту природних ресурсів, особливо у воєнний період, наголошували на важливості європейського досвіду та підтримки щодо захисту ресурсів. На завершення семінару майбутні педагоги підготували творчі роботи як символ участі у переробці та вживаних матеріалів. Бережемо природу разом!

In the course of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project, a seminar was held on the topic of “Biodiversity Conservation and Protected Areas in Ukraine and Europe”. The future teachers presented their speeches on the protection of natural resources, especially in wartime, and emphasised the importance of European experience and support in protecting resources. At the end of the seminar, the future teachers prepared creative works as a symbol of participation in recycling and used materials.

“ЄС та Україна збережемо природу разом” “EU and Ukraine preserve nature together”

У ході онлайн-челенджу здобувачі вищої освіти створювали комікси, у яких ілюстрували питання захисту природного довкілля. Мета онлайн-челенджу – підвищити екологічну свідомість студентської молоді, популяризувати цінності сталого розвитку, спільні для України та ЄС. Онлайн-челендж проходив під гаслом «Збереження природи – це не лише глобальна, а й локальна справа кожного». У своїх коміксах майбутні педагоги продемонстрували такі екологічні ідеї: заборона використання пластику, важливість зелених насаджень, набуття екологічних звичок. Усі комікси популяризували європейські екологічні цінності. У написанні та представлені учням коміксів взяли участь 52 здобувачі вищої освіти.

During the online challenge, higher education students created comics illustrating environmental issues. The aim of the online challenge was to raise environmental awareness among students and promote the values of sustainable development common to Ukraine and the EU. The online challenge was held under the slogan ‘Nature conservation is not only a global, but also a local matter for everyone’. In their comics, the future teachers demonstrated the following environmental ideas: the prohibition of plastic use, the importance of green spaces, and the acquisition of environmental habits. All the comics promoted European environmental values. A total of 52 higher education students took part in writing and presenting the comics to the students.
